Our journey began with the remarkable spirit of Alexander Gavrilov, who bravely escaped persecution in the former Soviet Union and embarked on a path that took him through Italy before finding his home in America.
Driven by a deep desire to provide a better life for his family, Alexander's resilience and determination knew no bounds. Despite facing hardships, he pursued his dreams, graduating from the Gemological Institute of America in 1986, he started apprenticeship as a jeweler in the Diamond district of New York.
As his expertise grew, Alexander founded our corporation, aptly named Esmeralda, "Emerald” in Italian. For over three decades, he put his heart into the art of jewelry infusing every piece with dedication and passion. Beyond the brilliance of his creations, he cherished the connections with his customers who were embraced as part of the family.
Unfortunately, in March of 2023, we bid farewell to Alexander, a remarkable gemologist, a loving father, and a devoted husband. His memory remains etched in our hearts, inspiring us every day. As we continue this extraordinary journey, his children and wife now carry forward the legacy, preserving the values of compassion and attention to detail that he held dear.
